Live in – House Keeper Wanted I work for a company who employ me as House Manager to look after an activities centre just outside Orpington in Kent. It is used by groups of people for recreational activities, training and holidays, primarily on weekends. Groups are supervised by adult leaders who organise their own programmes. The house sleeps 76 but currently averages around 50. I require a live in housekeeper to share responsibilities with me in order to maintain the house, grounds and outbuildings. Like myself house keeper will be responsible for ensuring groups that choose to stay here are welcomed, comfortable and safe during their stay and will be required to be on call when the house is occupied by a group. Duties include ensuring and maintaining a high level of health and safety and security; ensuring high standards of cleanliness; maintaining all activity equipment; carrying out or arranging necessary repairs. You will also jointly be required to ensure that visiting group leaders are made aware of health and safety and general rules of the house. For this reason a good standard of spoken English is essential. The ideal housekeeper will have significant experience of house cleaning to high standards and be prepared to help out with gardening, grounds maintenance and other light maintenance work. Although training can be given to the right applicant. An annual salary of £13000. is offered with own bedroom and shared facilities of clean, homely, furnished rent free detached cottage in the grounds including central heating and electricity. You must be pet friendly as I have an older cat and 1 year old dog and ideally your own transport as this is out in the countryside.
