Freelance Web Developer – WordPress, Drupal, PHP/MySQL, HTML, CSS…. Tonbridge Based. : Tonbridge

December 15th, 2011

If you’re reading this then you’re likely to be the sort of person I’m looking to get in touch with. Before you continue to read, you need to be a good team player and have some flare about you. This role will be heavily based on team work and friendships formed. About me: I do design and dev mostly in PHP/MySQL, HTML and CSS. I also do Flash but this is becoming less and less useful as HTML5 comes in to play and Flash support starts to fade. Recently I have been using WordPress as it’s requested by most of my clients (who seem to have experience using WP). I would also like to use Drupal for more advanced CMS sites. I’ve built CMSs from the ground up before as well as using many other packages on the market. I’ve dealt with large clients before and worked on huge bluechip projects. My issue: With the workload I have at the moment from existing clients it’s hard to step away from it and find new clients. I can’t take on larger projects as often this will result in loosing business from my smaller clients. My solution: Find 2 or maybe 3 local developers/designers who are interested in working as freelancers (still able to do work for their own clients). We would share a modern office in central Tonbridge where we can work together on the bigger stuff as well as the small bits. Forming a successful business where once established we would take on further staff and larger projects. The forming members would become key partners once the business is established. This isn’t a get rich quick scheme or a pyramid scheme, it’s simply a group of smart people getting together to develop a successful business and split the initial startup costs. Basically we would all set out to find a contract which would pay for the office, fit-out and other bits we might need (est. under 1k). We then take an agreed cut from the pot to pay everyone and leave a little in there for business development. We keep doing this and the business will grow nicely. Nobody will be asked to pay a penny up front or anything like that, it’s not a con! Our first project will cover our costs and pay our wages. I would go it alone, but where’s the fun in that? I want to work with some great people who honestly want to develop a business together rather than sit around waiting for their next pay cheque. I’m coming up to 30 years old (old enough), have plenty of experience and more ideas than you can shake a stick at. Get in touch and we’ll see if we can work together. And for those thinking what the hell is ‘WordPress, Drupal, PHP/MySQL, HTML and CSS’, don’t worry about it…. But if you find us a client who wants a website… We will pay a minimum £150 finders fee once the contract has been completed. Now everyone’s happy!
